For coast pilot teams

Write, review and publish coast pilot text from one place

Your team gets typed paragraphs, approvals and weekly editions published as PDF, web pages and JSON.

Editors, cartographers and publication managers work from the same approved source. Reviewers and approvers record each decision. Mariners and field units report changes against the exact paragraph and follow the status.

  • Every paragraph carries its type, geography and chart numbers
  • Nothing publishes without a named approver and a date
  • Every edit records who, when and why

A chapter tree beside weekly change set readiness. The same approved paragraphs drive the print, web and data outputs.

How it works

From a draft paragraph to a published edition in three moves

Write once, check the work, then publish the set as one unit. The order stays the same for an edition and for a weekly change set.

  1. Write a paragraph

Pick a type: aid to navigation, hazard, anchorage, bridge and cable, regulation, general, caution or note. Add geography, chart numbers and source, then save with a reason. See how to write one.

  2. Review and approve

Send the paragraph for review with a reviewer and a due date. Reviewers comment or suggest replacement text. Approvers accept or reject each suggestion and record the decision. See review and approval.

  3. Publish an edition or weekly set

Collect approved paragraphs in order, run the checks, compare with the last edition and lock the set. Publish PDF, web pages and JSON from the same snapshot. See editions and publishing.

Who uses it

One workspace for the whole weekly cycle

Each person sees the work that is waiting on them, in plain words, with the next step clear.

Nautical editors

Write typed paragraphs, add geography and chart numbers, and save each edit with a reason.

Cartographers

Check chart references, coordinates and geography before a paragraph leaves draft.

Field units and survey teams

Report a change from the paragraph they were reading and see its status without extra steps.

Reviewers and approvers

Read in context, comment or suggest text, then approve or return with a reason that stays on record.

Publication managers

Plan editions and weekly change sets, run checks, and publish PDF, web pages and JSON as one unit.

Mariners and readers

Read published editions by place, chart number or paragraph type, with no account needed.

What is in the workspace

Twelve parts that work as one system

Each part holds its own records and links to the paragraph it changes, so a change can be traced to an edition.

Publications and chapters

Hold each volume as ordered chapters, with status at each level.

Structured paragraphs

Store each statement once as a typed paragraph with geography and chart references.

Read, report, follow

Public reading and change reporting, with no account

Readers see only approved paragraphs in a published edition, with volume, edition date and paragraph reference on each page. A report a change control sits on the paragraph page.

  • Search by volume, area, chart number, paragraph type and edition date
  • Submit a report without sign in and keep the reference code
  • Check status by reference code and contact detail, in plain words
  • Download PDF, web pages and JSON from the same approved snapshot

A published paragraph page shows its type, geography, chart numbers, edition and last changed date.
